A diesel compressor is a device that compresses air and delivers it under high pressure.

The device works with air and various gases such as oxygen, nitrogen or propane-butane. It is widely used during construction and installation work, for laying highways and in other industrial areas. The main application of the diesel compressor is pneumatic tool drive and pipe blowing.

By the type of fuel used for the operation of the device, several types of compressors can be distinguished – these are gasoline, diesel, electric.

By the form of the case there are closed and open. The closed case is a “barrier” from the negative influence of the external environment, and the open case provides additional ventilation and cools the engine.

Compressor station is an integral part of the main gas pipeline, designed to ensure its design capacity by increasing the gas pressure at the outlet of the compressor station using various types of gas pumping units. Gas pumping units through a system of pipelines, valves of various diameters and other special equipment make up the so-called process flow diagram of the workshop.

The following main technological processes are carried out at the compressor station:

• cleaning the transported gas from mechanical impurities and liquids;
• gas compression in centrifugal blowers or reciprocating machines;
• gas cooling after compression in special cooling devices;
• measurement and control of technological parameters;
• control of the gas pipeline operating mode by adjusting the technological operating mode of the compressor shop.

To purify natural gas from mechanical impurities, devices are used that work according to the principle:

• “wet” dust collection (oil dust collectors);
• “dry” separation of dust (cyclone dust collectors), gravity separators.
